Starcom exec: TV networks may earn $120M from Net ads
ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox stand to gain $120 million in revenues this year generated by online ads from Web streams of their series, according to Tracey Scheppach, SVP and video innovation director for Starcom. The networks aren’t eager to publicize the amount in part because the sharing of such revenue is an major issue in the ongoing writers strike, this article reports. Financial Times (free content)

NBCU makes Netflix Web deal for “Heroes”
Under a new deal, NBC Universal will screen episodes of “Heroes” on the Netflix Web site one day after their networking airing. The arrangement also calls for Netflix subscribers to be given access to past episodes of other NBC shows like “30 Rock,” “Friday Night Lights” and “The Office,” via DVD rentals or online viewings. CBS Radio adds online video to local station sites via Truveo
CBS Radio has teamed with AOL’s Truveo local video search engine to provide content for 35 of the group’s radio station Web sites, with more sites scheduled to add the search capability soon. The service allows users to search and browse millions of videos from thousands of sources from across the Web, including content sites like YouTube and Dailymotion and the major broadcast networks.
