Nielsen: “Live plus three” ratings may come to local TV
Nielsen last week told clients it is considering switching the standard for local TV ratings to the current national standard of “live plus three” or C3, which measures time-shifted viewership for three days following a live broadcast. Currently, Nielsen measures time-shifted viewing of local stations on a “live plus seven” basis. MediaPost Communications

EMI expected to cut as many as 2,000 jobs
EMI, the U.K.-based record label could cut as many as 2,000 positions at the 5,500-employee company, as part of a major restructuring plan by new owner Guy Hands. It is also reported that marketing expenses may be slashed. BBC, The Wall Street Journal (subscription required)
