Will the FCC issue fine against ABC for Keaton’s remark?
The FCC could have a hard time taking action against ABC stations that aired an episode of “Good Morning America” in which actress Diane Keaton used the “f-word.” A federal court ruling last year stripped the FCC of the power to levy fines for fleeting profanity on broadcast TV and radio. Apple announces online-to-TV movie rental plan

In tandem with an announcement that consumers will be able to rent movies from Apple’s iTunes service, company CEO Steven P. Jobs also unveiled a device that connects directly to the Internet to allow users of the AppleTV set-top box to download and play movies on their high-definition TVs. The New York Times

Oprah Winfrey gets her OWN network
Discovery Communications and Oprah Winfrey are teaming up to launch the Oprah Winfrey Network, a cable network that will take over for the Discovery Health channel, a widely distributed cable station that currently reaches around 70 million households. OWN will show original programming on subjects typically associated with Winfrey’s daily talk show. OWN debuts next year. The Washington Post, The New York Times

DeGeneres ousts Oprah as America’s favorite TV star
Ellen DeGeneres is atop the Harris Poll’s favorite television stars list, replacing Oprah Winfrey, who had held the title for five consecutive years. DeGeneres last year ranked eighth. Winfrey is now in the No. 2 slot. The Hollywood Reporter/Reuters

Veteran Hispanic adman to launch pro-immigrant ads
Lionel Sosa, founder of Hispanic agency Sosa Bromley Aguilar, is heading up a TV campaign designed to muster support for legalizing undocumented workers in the U.S. Representatives from several industry segments and advocacy groups are rallying behind Sosa’s effort, and one group reportedly has donated $25 million to the effort. Sosa is hoping to raise $100 million for a national campaign. The Wall Street Journal (subscription required)
