Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., sent a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell requesting that the Dec. 29 football game between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants, currently set to be aired on the NFL Network, be broadcast free throughout New England and also outside of the teams’ designated market areas. In New England, the game will be broadcast in the Boston area by WCVB-TV and by WMUR-TV in most of New Hampshire. Outside of the teams’ designated market areas, viewers can only see the game via satellite, or if they are subscribers to a cable service that carries the NFL Network. Boston Herald
