Fox sources: No in-game Super Bowl ad spots left
Fox has sold its last in-game Super Bowl ad spot for the Feb. 3 telecast of the big game, according to network sources. Advertisers are paying about $2.7 million per 30-second spot, with one spot sold for $3 million. Mediaweek

CBS News adds second hour to Super Tuesday special

Group seeks FCC mandate for satellite HD radio technology
The HD Digital Radio Alliance has joined iBiquity Digital in petitioning the FCC to require XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio to include HD Radio technology in every satellite radio receiver as a condition of their merger approval. The alliance, in an FCC filing, expressed concern that a combined XM-Sirius entity, without such a requirement, would hinder the adoption of HD Radio. Radio Ink

Yahoo! to eliminate 1,000 jobs
Yahoo! by mid-February plans to downsize its 14,300-member work force by 1,000 positions, as part of its turnaround plan. The job cuts were bigger than some observers expected, although some workers will be able to apply for new positions in growth-areas of the company, according to this article. Yahoo! also announced a 23% drop in its fourth-quarter net income versus the same period a year earlier. International Herald Tribune
