Hi Ron, I have been a subscriber to your blog a good 6or so months now and I have to ask - where are the tips, tricks and techniques? All I see are “News Roundups” and plugs for books from your friends. Hey, don’t get me wrong here - I think Scott Kelby and the Photoshop Guys are great and I subscribe to all of their blogs but I subscribed to yours for insight and help with video production. Granted I am just a hobbyist but how many hobbyists go out and purchase the Adobe Production Premium CS3 Collection for kiicks? There are not many sites out there that offer tips and tricks for Premiere Pro or After Effects compared to all the Photoshop sites and Flash.

Basically, what I was hoping from this blog was more insight on the product/s that have to do with video editing and I am just not seeing it.

Hi Mike - It’s Rod by the way, not Ron - My software techniques are in my class notes that I send out through my email list. Just like Scott doesn’t do any Photoshop training on his blog, you won’t see much free video training here either. You’re more likely to see things like my series on the 5 best video cameras last year or the best web video campaigns, along with tips on when not to upgrade Quicktime or what upcoming software version will have native support for P2 technology, etc. By the way, I’ve only mentioned TWO books of a friend on this site ever. :-)

  3. Mike Says:

My apologies Rod for getting your name wrong.

  4. Rod Harlan Says:

Mike - Are there any specific video production or Adobe video-centric questions or problems I could help you with?

I’m on vacation at DisneyWorld at the moment (through Monday), but I usually check email in the evening.
