I Love Baby Bumbo!
Posted on: November 5, 2007
In case you’ve missed it, you’ve got to check out the Baby Bumbo videos (linked at the end of this article). It’s a trilogy of stop motion music video clips created by a dad about the adventurers of his daughter while sitting in her Bumbo Babysitter seat. They’re fantastic! They have great music, special effects, clever storytelling, and evil villains (the family dog) to heighten the drama and suspense. It’s exactly what a dad should do when armed with a Sony VX2000 camera, Adobe After Effects 7 and Premiere Pro 2.
Update - I’ve got some inside info on the behind-the-scenes production of this great trilogy. The first video was created when his daughter was between the ages of 9-12 weeks and took him about 3 weeks (about 30hrs filming/editing) to complete. The second video was shot when his daughter was between the ages of 3-5 months old and took 2 months (about 50hrs filming/editing) to complete. The latest installment took 4 months to complete (about 75hrs filming/editing) and was shot between the ages of 5-9 months.
Here’s the Music Credits list for each video:
- Episode 1 = Roll it up by Crystal Method.
- Episode 2 = Right Here, Right Now by Fatboy Slim.
- Episode 3 = Never Gonna Come Back Down by BT and Can’t Get Away by Third Eye Blind
Ready, Set, Bumbo I
Ready, Set, Bumbo II
Ready, Set, Bumbo III

The Baby-Bumbo trilogy is fantastic. I love these three videos, and the third one is the best of the three. When will there be more?
