Do dtv converter boxes convert the dtv signal to analog ch 3?

If so, is the channel number to be watched set by the box?

    Hi,
I’m looking to buy a HD camcorder & I’m thikning of 3 types : Canon HF-10, JVC GZ-HD6 & sony HDR-SR12. I have a specific question about the AVCHD recording format on the Canon & Sony camcorder : I’ve read that that type of format is not compatible with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 ? Is this correct ? If so, is the JVC GZ-HD6 a better choice since it records in MPEG-2 format ?
    Thanks,
    Frank
