Two days before the announcement I got a “Sneak Peak” special training session with the BrainTrust from Adobe. Here’s what I can tell you from a first look:

For those who don’t want to watch the video…

  • Has a New Streamlined Library
  • Can now Filter by Text
  • Has a very cool Suggested Keywords command that will save a lot of time.
  • Has AWESOME new Smart Collections - think iTunes Smart Playlist but for photos
  • A new window for second displays with 4 different views… and it’s LIVE linked
  • Now has a Picture Package of 6 images
  • Good quality version of Print Sharpening has finally been created
  • The Application is in 32 bit mode by default. On a Mac you can run it in 64 bit mode if you are running OS 10.5 Leopard and on an Intel Mac. On Windows, you need Vista and need to download a new 64 bit installer.
  • A word about the Beta… Don’t run slideshow. It’s pretty broken.
